Model Answer:

Weather can be very unpredictable at times, and because of this unpredictability, we also have to change our plans from time to time. Today, I would like to talk about one such occasion when I was also forced to change my plan.

It happened about a year ago or so when I made a plan in order to take my little 6 years old nephew to do some fishing at a lake for the first time. My little nephew, of course, had requested this to me a number of times in the past, but because of my busy work schedule, I just couldn’t entertain his request. In fact, I was so busy that I even had to work on the weekend most of the times. But, then luckily, I came to know about a rare weekend when I actually didn’t have to do anything. So, without a second thought, I immediately made a plan to take my dear nephew to a lake which was about 25 kilometres away from where I lived.

Needless to say, the little guy got very excited about the idea and started to organize his things the previous day as per the “instructions” of the TV programme that he had been watching for quite some time. But, then the weather decided not to be so kind upon us as just before 20 minutes of our scheduled road trip towards the lake, heavy rain and thunderstorm dashed our whole plan for the day. Besides, suddenly everything around us also became dark because of heavy cloud in the sky. So, both I and my little nephew decided that it wouldn’t be safe to go out in that kind of bad weather.

Anyway, as we were forced to change our plan, my little nephew initially felt really sad and disappointed. Besides, I also scolded myself a bit because of my negligence to check the weather forecast the previous day. After all, we didn’t have to go through all these troubles if I had checked the weather news in advance.
